On second thought...

I'm so cozy at home tonight. I'm just going to stay home and sew. I'm not sick, I'm just exceedingly content where I am.

So no one is knitting with Simon tonight! I should change the name of my blog. I'll take suggestions. It's just because I'd like to firm a knitting group, wherever we end up, which won't be Austin, and I thought knit with Simon would be a cute name.

But really I just want to talk about the things I make, and sometimes I'll talk about my health problems, because I think it's important for people to understand the challenges of living with mental illness. I'll talk about my life and probably share tmi. I'm a very open person, probably too open.

So maybe I'll just go back to People Place, because it has pictures of my dolls already. Yep. That's what I'm going to do.

Preparations

I'm getting ready for knit night. I've cut out fabric to sew up by hand and now I'm weaving in ends on Hannah's sweater. The only thing I'll lack is a button for the top of the cardigan. I still don't know if it was a good idea to put in a button hole. I guess next time I'll skip it and just use a snap. No one else will know, because I'm making it for ME!

I'll try to get people to sign in on my blog tonight. No promises! I'm not sure if it's creepy or not to other people to write on someone else's blog. I just like the idea of it.

No Knitting

No, I didn't knit today. I must be ill. Rather, my knitting is ill. The pink socks seem to be too small. See, I knit quite a bit of it before I realized they were too big. So I ripped and started again. Smaller. Too small. I haven't ripped the small socks yet. I just don't have the heart. Maybe my feet are swollen and they will fit tomorrow. Maybe.

I don't feel like knitting any other project AT ALL. Although I do have a pair of gloves that are almost finished. I'll take them to knit night tomorrow.

I have been reading Jane Austen. Persuasion. Love it. I can't simply put it down and knit, now can I?

Seriously, though, I need a lasting project, and I think the next thing is hand sewing. I've just about finished Hannah's sweater and she needs a dress and slip. I've already done the smocking and I've designed my patterns. I lost my blue fabric and had to dye another piece. Luckily it was a perfect match!

I am not going to work on my cardigan until I can afford to take the TKGA correspondence course on professional finishing. And I'm probably going to do masters one first.

New Blog

A few times a week I knit with people. It keeps me relatively sane. Next time I knit with people, gee it's late, er, early, but later today, I'm going to see if they will put in their name and what they are working on. I think it will be fun.

On days I don't knit with people, I'm usually knitting by myself. Or one of the other things that I do. I'll post that stuff, too. If I learn to do links, I'll try to link projects back to Ravelry.

Right now I have a few projects to choose from. A cabled cardigan, a pair of socks, and a pair of gloves. I just finished a big project and I'm a little depressed about it. What will I do?! What will I do?! The answer here is of course, pick up one of those other projects. Eventually this will lead to another finishing depression. I guess it just goes on and on, lol.

My big project was a fair isle doll cardigan with steeked sides in yarn I dyed. It was lace weight yarn and I used size 000 needles, because that's the smallest Addi lace points you can get. I'm not really willing to go to another brand to knit smaller.

And I'm reading Designing Sweaters in Plain English. About halfway through, but I skipped some parts. I intend to go back and read them. Eventually.
